01/12/2010

Both Rhondda Cynon Taf Planning Authority and Brecon Beacons National Park Authority resolved to grant planning permission for the 240,000 tonnes per year intergrated recycling facility in Hirwaun, south Wales in March 2010

Since then Enviroparks and the planning authorities have been working to complete the planning obligations document which sets out many of the operational restrictions and environmental protection controls that Enviroparks will be required to meet at Hirwaun. In particualr, Enviroparks have continued to work very closely with Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, whose reservoir borders the site.

The planning obligation document is now complete and Enviroparks prepare to move to the next phase of development which will include the appointment of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction contactor and the commencement of work on the Enviromental permit.

Roger Hewitt, Enviroparks Chairman, "We are very pleased that we have now completed the planning application process and can now move forward. We remain confident that site works will commence in 2013."
