Public Exhibition Closes

02/10/2008

Enviroparks completed three days of public consultation on Tuesday 30th September with an exhibition at Rhigos Community Centre.

The sessions were well attended by residents of Rhigos, Hirwaun and Penderyn, with the main areas of discussion revolving around traffic volumes, noise, engine emissions and odour. These issues will be well covered in the forthcoming environmental statement which will available on this website for public scrutiny. However, a more detailed junction survey has been commissioned this week and also a detailed review of the engine emission points is being carried out.

Residents of Rhigos Village were particularly concerned that the development would be another 'blot on the landscape' in the light of previous developments around the village in the past. The quality of the project was highlighted by the Enviroparks team along with the requirement that the buildings would be BREEAM excellent.

Some residents were also worried that they would not get any further information regarding the environmental permitting of the site. As a result Enviroparks has agreed to further meetings to inform interested parties of the content and nature of the permit and assist in explaining the more technical sections.

Should you wish to make further comment then please use the 'contact' feature on the website.

We would like to thank the Community Councils of both Rhigos and Hirwaun & Penderyn for their assistance in organising these events.
